Changing opinions one at a time

At the Park yesterday Barney and I came across a Woman with 2 small Terrier type Dogs. Barney and the other dogs were all off lead and when she saw Barney approach she picked her Dogs up. With a straight face I said "Thankyou so much, it's nice to meet a responsible owner, I know how vicious those small dogs can be" called Barney and we walked on. Her face was a picture, stunned into silence. Tonight we met again, this time she did not pick her dogs up and all 3 dogs ran around for 5 minutes playing together. She said she couldn't believe it and that her opinion had changed. Well done Barney! One at a time and we will get there.

Absolutely brilliant - I would've loved to have seen her face. My friend got 'ordered' to put her staffy on a lead the other day in the park. This woman also had a tiny dog which was in her arms. She went on and on raving about how these dangerous dogs should never be allowed to roam around attacking other dogs !!! Erm Bonny is the most gentlest well behave staffy you could imagine. She looks scary cos she's well built and has an enormous grin but................soft as butter. Good luck to everyone putting out the message - STAFFYS LOVE US & OUR DOGGIES

I must admit that I wished I had had more time to watch her face but I felt that to make the comment really effective I just had to walk on.

She actually seeks me out in the Park now and say to her dogs "Here is your friend, go and play". Such a change, so funny.

What a turn around, brilliant!   

It is a bit silly to pick your dog up when another approaches, what will it do when it does meet another dog ?

Love it. I've converted someone to how lovely staffs are. She has had working labs and sprinters for years and when I told her we were getting Travis she said she didn't want to meet him.!!
After 4 weeks of showing her loads of pictures from the Facebook groups and how nice staffs are, she agreed to meet him. Needless to say, Travis won her over and we are going to organise her 11 month old lab meeting up.
I love my boy , after 3 weeks with us he is winning so many friends
