Puppy pre school? breeder vs trainer advice
Hi all,
My little puppy sadie is 9 weeks old tomorrow, and is due to start puppy pre school next week.
the trainer and other friends of mine said its good to start now because its important to get her socialise with other puppies of her age and they're all on the same current vaccination. however the breeder advises us to wait till she has the 12 week vaccination first before taking her to puppy pre school. the trainer advised us that there has been no parvo virus in the vet (pre school area) for 4 years.
we're being very careful of the virus, she doesnt sit on the floor outside our house or even go to the frontyard unless we carry her.. she only goes to the backyard to do her toilet and to play.
What do you guys suggest?
listen to the breeder, or listen to the trainer?
thanks

I waited till Ruby had had all of her vaccinations. Better to be safe than sorry, other owners may not be as vigilant as you with their puppies in outside areas.

She's adorable I would ask the advice of a vet myself but I think I would wait until after all the vacanations just to be safe

We waited until Theia was 11 weeks which was one week after her last jab. We didn't find it the right type of socialisation for her,

Re: Puppy pre school? breeder vs trainer advice
We were told by the vet that about a week after his first vaccination, he could socialise with vaccinated dogs.
We got him at 7 weeks and straight away started toilet training in the garden and let him out there to play and roll around.
From 9 weeks (1 week after first vaccination) he was playing inside with the neighbours dog and we took him to puppy class
We just carried him around when he had to go out of the house/garden to be safe but took him everywhere to get him used to noises and people.

We did exactly the same.
