House of Commons debate Empty House of Commons debate

In case some of you don't know ,there is a debate in the House of Commons to regulate the sales of puppies and kittens on 4th September.
It's recommended that everyone writes to their MP to encourage them to attend this event and give their support.

This link will help you find your MP and you can message them there too  Smile

Thanks for the heads up Annie, we do tend to forget that they do all work for us, or are supposed to.

It seems to me that an awful lot more can be done by local authorities. All mine seem to be doing is new legislation for fining dog owners for dog fouling and restricting the areas in which you can be lead free Grrrrrrrrr

if you want to see how effective that legislation is, just go on pets4homes and check the number of pups being sold under the 8 weeks mark, the number of repeat sellers, and dogs that were quite clearly bought as puppies FROM pets4homes and then sold as x no. of months-3 year old dogs when the owners realised they couldn't look after them/got kids/landlords changed their minds about pets.

i'm not saying everyone who advertises on internet sites is bad, but the sheer numbers involved indicate that it's poorly regulated.
