Omw don't get me started on that picture - our convicted-rapist president used our taxes to build that. And once the opposition political party finally called him out on it, what did the ANC do - have the public protector investigated, dug up dirt on her to get her out of the way. (Any number of articles here http://www.news24.com/Tags/Topics/nkandla_upgrade). That place is infuriating!!
As for the security - I do hate it. I hate being a nervous wreck. Was talking with the OH about it earlier too and he says as a guy he doesn't really think about it or he'd never leave the house. Personally, I hate leaving the house and driving about or going anywhere on my own. The stories I could tell. Absolutely hate going out at night, so we don't. I'm a complete wreck just going to the shops on my own lol.
I think I've said it before but with our complex we have electric fencing around the permiter wall, 24 guard, electric gate and CCTV at the entrance. Within that my own garden wall has electric fencing, every door has a security gate, windows have security bars and the house has an alarm. And it all turns us into nervous wrecks.

It's ok I tried to stop reading the news ages ago, but I'm a new junky, can't help keep up with what's happening.
It gets worse. Bad attitudes, bad education, poor job opportunities - but I bet many people say that about where they come from? They say we are very, very quickly going the way Zimbabwe did - and that is an extremely scary thought.

I don't know if it's a good or bad thing knowing there is better out there in the world? I'd love to be able to take my dogs on park and woodland walks and to the pub, be able to walk along the streets, nip out to the shops, take a train or bus...silly things like that really.

Re: i moan about the uk
oh boy as far as free channels go we have 4. Don't watch any of them. Most people have satellite tv for the international channels. I did away with that, bought a Raspberry Pi and signed up for a Filmon UK acc so I can get your freeview hee hee
