do I leave him at home or take to day care
I've just applied to college to do a veterinary nursing assistant course until I am able to do a full veterinary nurse qualification the course is only two days a week and it would mean loki being alone for two whole days, which are Monday and Friday, I'm just debating whether to send him to daycare or keep him at home with lots of toys etc...he's very human orientated and I'm really working on him being alone for longer but he doesn't always like it.

How many hours will he be left? Does he ever get left alone at the moment? Good luck with the application

Would you be able to get friends or family in during those days or perhaps a dog walker?

Thank you!!! it would be 9-5 he would be left, and he gets left when I get to town or to drop eli off at nursery, the longest he's been left was 5 hours and I had to to training that day, hed been digging at the stairgate tho as the bottom catch was down. He's confined to the kitchen at the moment when we are out, but he always has toys, kongs etc, I don't like leaving him for too long!! I'm trying to separate myself away from him so he's not too attached.I have no family here, or friends that would be able to do it, so I would probably have to get a dog walker, I'll have to ring around because I don't want him to have a negative experience anywhere.

Re: do I leave him at home or take to day care
I would only leave Ledger that long over night as he sleeps, during the day there is more risk of him being disturbed (postman etc)
I was worried about daycare as was told he was kennel stressed at dogs trust, however he is always super excited to see the staff when we get there and apparently pretty much curls up and sleeps and isn't fussed about other dogs passing his run etc. I mostly use a walker tho she comes in and takes him out for an hour which means he has about 4-5hrs either side of her visits she sends a text as soon as she leaves and also always writes a little note with where they have been and his toilet tally lol

Awww that's nice!!! I'm still deciding on what to do, it's only twice a week but still, I don't like the thought of him being here alone that much.

Re: do I leave him at home or take to day care
I would defo think about sending him to daycare.
Were lucky were we live we have a daycare were we take bruce
He goes twice aweek and its only 10 pound for the day
Plus i think you need to trust the person you are leaving your dog with
Good luck any way.

Re: do I leave him at home or take to day care
Good luck with the application! We leave Koda at home outside alone all day while we're at work and he's fine, lots of toys & always a treat when we leave, no issues so far and we've done it from 3 mths til now (9 mths), he just gets super excited when we get home and we make sure he gets a good walk morning & night and tonnes of play time when we are home, extra treats on weekends together etc.

Re: do I leave him at home or take to day care
I'd say daycare or a dog walker that'll walk and stay with him too. I wouldn't leave Darcy 8 hours xx

I don't wanna leave him for that long I just don't like the idea of it at all, I don't wanna stress him out.

Re: do I leave him at home or take to day care
I'd start doing some research Hun now interviewing daycare centres and walkers so when the time comes you'll both be ready, I know you'll do what's best for him xx
