huff...vets huff...
Went to the vets to get some advocate and popped him on the scales...and he's 8kg and 4.5 months old, the vet said this is under weight he's putting on more with his new food but he wants him to put on a bit more weight...I dunno what I can feed him to help him.

Re: huff...vets huff...
I feed field and trial by skinners and I follow the guide on the bag, I'm not sat by it right now, but yeah I've put extra in his bowl today. See if that helps

Re: huff...vets huff...
How about adding a raw egg or some sardines? Or some cooked mince?

At that age they all grow at different rates, guidelines are just that, I always feed on the look of the dog some need more some less, and you just monitor their shape

Milo is 15.40kg and 10 months old and my vet is saying to watch his weight!!! I think each dog is different and you'll be know if they're getting tubby or too skinny - I wouldn't worry

Re: huff...vets huff...
I tried to work out from Skinners online guide for Loki at his age and weight, and found it quite difficult to guesstimate it. How much do you feed him? Theia weighs in at 9kg at 15 weeks. She gets 270g of JWB over 3 meals. Ours is quite difficult to work out too because you have to take into account the estimated adult weight! With both her parents being well within breed standard we using her mother as a guide of about 15kg.

Re: huff...vets huff...
One thing to think of Freya. We made our last dog a very and I mean very fussy eater by adding extras to his meals. I know not all dogs are fussy like Floyd was, maybe to help prevent this feed Loki any extras like sardines separately so he doesn't associate them with meals. I would even give him them from a different bowl, maybe make them the reward after a training or grooming session.

Why only once a week? Try daily or every other day it won't harm him

Re: huff...vets huff...
I wouldn't worry too much about weight as a pup. As long as he is healthy I'm sure he will hit a growth spurt soon enough.
