sulking puppy
buster is in a sulk because he has to wear the lamp shade of embarrasment lol ,
he cut his paw pad open on some glass and wouldnt leave it alone so ive bandaged it up and put the e collar on to stop him pulling the bandage off , does anyone have any idea how long it will take to heal? (the cut was a bout 1cm deep.)

Oh poor Buster am afraid I dont know but it will need to get some aiir to it, once it starts to heal. Keep an eye though that it doesnt get infected.

Oh that's a major sulking face bless him. As mentioned above, just keep an eye on the paw to make sure no infection sets in.

Re: sulking puppy
I would have thought a couple of weeks. If you are changing the bandage regularly, ou should be able to ascertain when you can leave he bandage off.

Re: sulking puppy
I'd be inclined to take him along to the vet to check it out and to ensure the cut is clean. Douglas did the same last year and he needed a stitch to hold it together. The stitch made it heal quicker, but he still needed to wear the lampshade of shame for a short while. Not as long as 2 weeks tho - maybe 3 days. He seriously didnt like it. It's not for definite that they gnaw the bandage off - the one put on by the vet seemed to last a couple of days - probably because put on with the right pressure. In this hot weather, wearing the lampshade may be extra uncomfortable and the bandage may be extra itchy. The vet would be able to advise if either or both are necessary.

Always best to be safe. Have you ever used Neosporian before? I use it for myself and Suki and it helps speed the healing process. Hope he heals soon.
