Lack of appetite
Bane seems to have gone off his food a little lately.
He is eating a lot earlier than he used to so I can understand if he isn't hungry in the morning, but he often leaves part of his dinner too.
Is it maybe the heat? Has it affected anyone else's appetite? :/ I think he is starting to become fussy

Re: Lack of appetite
He is raw fed and has one piece of on the bone meat with a pack of meat I make up (mix of minces, meat and offal)
They are usually both frozen and he goes straight for the on the bone meat and then leaves the mince. In the mornings I put it in the fridge after about 10 mins and the OH gives it to him a few hours later.
Then he does the same at dinner. Eats the meat on the bone and then leaves the mince. He has only just eaten it when it was put down at 6pm.
He's never been fussy before and only started doing this as it has gotten hotter.

Re: Lack of appetite
Daisy is fussy with her bones, I think it's just laziness because she never leaves the mince!

Re: Lack of appetite
We were thinking laziness to start with as he has gone off trotters lately and I guess the packs I make up are quite hefty...I just didn't think I'd ever see the day that a dog turns his nose up at raw food

That's good I hope Bane doesn't go in the opposite direction and get more fussy

Re: Lack of appetite
I really think it could be the heat. As long as he's not losing weight or showing signs of illness, I wouldn't be too concerned

Re: Lack of appetite
He wasn't at all interested in his food yesterday but a little better today after some coaxing into it! We're thinking of reducing him to 1 meal a day if he continues to be a fuss pot! See if his appetite will increase! Thanks everyone

Re: Lack of appetite
It could well be the heat, Rocky doesn't eat so much in the summer either.

Re: Lack of appetite
Very odd! We've had to get a couple packs of food from PAH to tie us over to our DAF delivery and he seems to be scoffing them without even looking to see what it is so maybe he was fed up of the meat we were giving him before? Fussy pup! Hopefully DAF will sort this all out
