Frontline or alternatives please?
We are still having a problem with Ticks so I have been looking in to various options, even though I hate
the thought of using chemicals on Harry the thought of him getting a disease from one of these ticks
is more worrying.
So anyone use frontline or advantix or any other type that you can tell me your experience of please.
Are there side effects, do they work? Thanks.

Re: Frontline or alternatives please?
I know my vet told me that Frontline really isnt much use for ticks, as it takes 48 hours to work by which time if the tick is deseased then its already in the system. (majority of ticks are not deseased btw) He said its best to just get the proper tool and remove them. He did say there is something coming onto the market soon which will be more effective. As for Advantix I dont know xx

Maybe Diatomaceous Earth would be effective here? From what I've heard it pretty much kills all those nasty buggers and it's safe for the dogs and humans.

We just use Effipro on Rocky, ticks don't seem to be a major issue around here though.
