Re: Oh my god they can sulk! UPDATED and very worried.
Well, I cancelled the vets this morning - the infection has really gone down, so pleased. She is very much herself, a couple of small walks and although lump is still visible it doesn't seem to be bothering her. Have booked another vets appointment tomorrow just in case it gets worse after walking today, but all in all very happy with her progress.
Thanks ladies Xx

Thanks for asking Tracy, well I am slightly concerned - the major infection has gone but there still is an obvious build up under the skin, also a puncture mark has appeared, it looks worse then the photo, is rather deep, just keeping it clean Xx

Oh no that looks sore, are you going to take her to the vets? she may need some antibiotics to clear the rest of the infection up, it's awful when their poorly like you say you just wish they could talk to you and tell you how they feel. Please update on her progress for you both

Been to the vets - she is already on antibiotics, this just worries me. Its a very odd wound, like a puncture but there are no other visible teeth marks. Shall keep an eye on it Xx

It does seem quite a deep puncture mark, lets hope the antibiotics help clear it up and make her more comfortable, they really worry you when their not well don't they xx

Re: Oh my god they can sulk! UPDATED and very worried.
On her side and the infection under the skin is about 2inces under it. She is on antibiotics so not a lot more I can do.
As I mentioned the vet didn't no and mentioned a snake bite, think its just quite a severe infection - I just can't see where it can come out of.

Re: Oh my god they can sulk! UPDATED and very worried.
Doesn't look like a snake bite after all. I wonder if she got caught on a stick whilst out. When the antibiotics kick in, the infection is usual dealt with by the body so as long as it isn't getting bigger the body should deal with it.
Odd how you couldn't see the wound before though
Is she better in herself janey ?

The puncture mark is now healing over but there is still a really strange lump thing there - think it will be vets Monday - annoyingly she 100% herself but I just don't know what it is! Xx

Is it just a lump where the puncture is ? Or are the original swellings still a little large janey ?

Its so hard to explain - the initial watery bit was under her arm pit - about 5 inches under the puncture - that has dispersed - this hard ish lump is in between the puncture and where the watery bit was. Very strange - thought maybe bruising but it doesn't feel right Xx

Hmmm... I was gonna suggest that if it was under the puncture then that could be part of the healing. As it's away from that and given that you know Moo best, might be wise to get it checked out, even if it is for peace of mind.

Hope all goes well at the Vets for Moo tomorrow Janey.
Must admit I have never seen anything like that before.
The nearest thing to it was when I had a little Westie and he got a grass
seed in his foot which travelled up his leg and the lump came up under
his arm (for want of a better way of describing it). But there was no
puncture mark.
You may never know, but the most important thing is they make your
lovely girl well
