Re: Mambo's weekend
How sweet!
I used to love walking in the Malvern hills, but I haven't been there for quite a few years!

Re: Mambo's weekend
usually we use normal leash but for malvern hills we use 15meters rope so he can wander around it's still much too early to let him run freely, so at least we can give him that much 'freedom' - he can still chase some rabbits and hunt cows, just as he did this weekend
Malvern Hills are great, they're just half an hour walk from our place, amazing place for a walk and so much interesting sniffing for Mambo to do

Just a plain rope? Thats a great idea and a lot cheaper than a training lead

Re: Mambo's weekend
yes, plain rope for 2 quid from Mambo's favourite DIY shop - shop owners love him, he gets free treats when he goes there and they let him run around the place
just tie a nice carabiner (as i explained here: https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t5195-reinforcing-the-leash-with-carabiners) to the rope with some good sailor knot
it actually works pretty well

Great idea with the rope I'm gonna get me some of that, plus a carabiner and talk aver so nicely to my hubby and ask him to splice a handle for me and a loop for the attachment.
What brand is Mambos harness by the way. Is it padded (it looks like it to me)

Do it yourself! It's very satisfying!
use this for a hangle loop:
This is called a rescue knot. It doesn't clench when you pull the rope
Use this to tie the carabiner with the rope:
This knot is ment to hold fisher boats, so it will hold on a pulling staffie
Good luck with these
PS. Test it before you go out with your doggy

It is a padded harness. I'm not 200% sure but I'm pretty certain that the brand is called 'Rosewood'. It was quite cheap as well (just under 13quid).
