I've stayed there many times, most relaxing place I know - middle of nowhere but on bus route to Lyme Regis if no car.

Time of year Steve; unless you can snap up a last minute cancellation for a caravan in South Essex you could very well get 5/7 days abroad cheaper.
OR (here's an idea) take a tent and ask a farmer if you can pitch in his field for a couple of days.
Good luck!

Me poor person too Steve ! Which is why, a tent in a field (which at my age and a buggered up knee) is not an option, means that this year's holiday will be spent at Ourgate (geddit?)
Skeggy or Blackpool sound great - go for it!

I've stayed here before, it's in the North Western Highlands of Scotland, if you want to get away from it all this is the place. The scenery is stunning the best I have ever seen anywhere in the world. I would quite happily go and live here:
