We're going to get wood soon - stronger than laminate for doggy claws

Re: Wood floor or laminate?
Doesn't wood get scratched though? The hubby has been looking for our new home in Andorra and one of our favourites has wood floors but I'm worried that it would get scratched. The other is tile which I actually do prefer. Never having had wood floors, I worry about scratches, stains or getting ruined by other means. Please educate the uneducated on the pros of wood

We have a good quality wood laminate flooring in our lounge which has been there for 8 years now and still in very good condition. This picture shows the flooring we have in the lounge:

Does look good. Ive been looking at the wood effect laminate which has the grooves cut in, it looks nearly as good as wood
