List of toys for your new staffie
Hi guys!
I'm new to this forum and have found it very useful so far.
I have a staff puppy arriving on the 19th April (8 week old) and I am getting everything ready for his arrival. However one bit I am stuck on are toys to get him. So far I have gathered that staffs love to chew and therefore looking towards stuff to handle that.
I was wondering if you guys could help me with stuff to get. Nylabone and Kong seem to be what the web suggests but I am not entirely sure what sizes to get.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi and welcome, do come and say hello here

A kong is a must! I think they do smaller ones for puppies? Daisy never bothered with her stag bar. Her favourite are just cheap ropes for tug of war!

Some cheap rope toys like saz says we had a puppy kong which Darcy loved, fallow dear antler, steer clear of raw hide and nylabones bit can break of and swell and cause blockages

TBH stag bar and boomer ball I would wait until he is slightly older, there teeth need time to develop, frozen carrots are a great toy and especially help when teething Xx

Re: List of toys for your new staffie
When my Ron Dog was little I gave him a tea towel with a knot in it and strips of a towel with knots in them. He still has his tea towel now. One of my nightshirts with a knot in aswell for him to sleep with so he could smell me.
For a bed because they chew the hell out of them I bought cheap single duvets and cut them up into strips of 3 and put them into pillowcases and managed to get 3 beds out of a duvet for about a £5. Old blankets from charity shops make good beds too.

Lula still has her kong squiggle and its been a firm fav with her. We did have the kong wubba but it only lasted a few weeks Lula loved a soft bunny squeaky toy but again did not last long. We got a number of rope toys but i just buy those from the pound shop. The puppy kong she likes especially when it is filled with a tasty treat. Tennis balls don`t last two minutes with her but she has two footballs that are holding up well. I`m going to buy her a couple of chuckit balls because i hear they are really good.

Re: List of toys for your new staffie
don't really know about toys for pups as we had tessa as a rescue at 3 years old but i would reccomend a nylabone for when he is older. they don't break or swell as some people have suggested but are really hard wearing. tessa has had hers for nearly 2 years now and it's still going strong but my moms staff has got through 2 in as many years but she is a real intensive chewer (the dog not my mom).

Re: List of toys for your new staffie
Don't give your pup your old clothes or shoes. When it chews the shoes that smell exactly like its toy shoe it starts getting expensive! Also I would stay away from the cheap squeeky plastic rubbish. They last about 30 seconds and bits can be easily swallowed. Like everyone else has said kongs are about the best but in the 14 years we had Floyd, we found nothing short of steel is Stafford proof.
It's been said but it is important, stay away from hard things like antlers until its adult teeth are in.
