Toys
Would like to get Alfie some more toys. He likes throwy ones that are also chewy. Like a kong, which he already has.
I have read the sticky above, are there any new reviews of the Kong Traxx, the Kong squeak air, and the Chuck it Ultra?
Anyone tried the Jump-n-jack?
Do they stand up to the Staffy jaws and what sizes do you recommend for my small Alfie, though he has a big mouth?!
Thanks

Re: Toys
Thanks Kathy that's where I got the names of them from
Im really not sure about the boomer ball, if he would play with it. He mostly likes things being thrown and having a chew on them. Not sure he would voluntarily chase a big ball around. I'd like to find a staffy proof squeaky toy as he like the sound. We got him a kong one but he chewed the squeaker end off in minutes!

Re: Toys
Daisy likes to chew and isn't interested in her boomer ball! She most had rope toys that we can play tug with, a kong, bento ball and some fluffy sqeaky ones that are in peices!

Re: Toys
If you can make a Staffy-proof squeaky toy I think you'll make a million!!!! Our 2 prefer old socks tied together and the red Kongs. Can't find anything else that stands up to them to be honest. We have a 'toy box' that they rummage in all the time with Stag bars, old bones and 'bits' of toys, but they always bring out the socks and the red Kongs. Oh yeah and a very, very old blue Kong ball that is really just a bit of hard rubber now, but they often wake us up with that dangling in our faces

Re: Toys
TBH one of the best toys we had was something my hubby made out of an old bed sheet, he just cut it into strips and tied them together which made a great tug toy.

Re: Toys
All the money we spend on them Jo & Kathy and they like the socks and sheet ties, sounds about right!
Saz I think Alfie would be the same with a boomer ball. He has got rope toys, which hubby plays with him, but its not really my preference, especially as I have a dodgy shoulder at times.
He has a black kong (red one did not last one outing) but was looking for something else that would randomly bounce and survive a bit of chewing too.

Re: Toys
Lol!!! Noooo! Fat cat is a brand.. They make cat shaped toys with quite tough fabric and a squeaker inside.. Biscuit just used to throw it around in the air, but she did get bored when I was at work one day and kill it. She was just as happy with the carcass though she sleeps with it now xx

Toy of the day is the belt from a cotton towelling dressing gown that I was putting in a charity bag. It's tied in a knot 4 times and they've been playing with it for 3 hours now

suitable staffie toys
Charlie loves his boomer, but unfortunately he sunk his canines into the ball in several places, cutting his gums in the process. He has a toy box full of nylabones (giant size) in various states, also rope balls a little larger than tennis balls. I replace them when he pulls the strands loose. (don't want him to swallow threads of rope!) If a manufacturer came up with a genuine undestructable staffie toy they would make a fortune.

Bane took a liking to my dressing gown so he now has that as his blanket and I did the same with the tie! Made a monkey fist knot? out of it and he loves throwing it around and pouncing on it and ragging it all over the place!
He's still a pup so not sure if his surviving toys would live up to your Alfie's jaws He does have one of the tyre toys though! It's one we got from Wilkos so probably not as good as the Kong ones! But because of the shape of it, he can't get his mouth round it to destroy like he would with anything else! He had it for Christmas and there are a few teeth holes but otherwise fully intact

Re: Toys
His chuck it balls came and he loves them. He only has them out for supervised play as he would probably just destroy them if left. Also they are more of a treat if he hasn't access to them all the time. I got him the jumping jack too which you can put treats in, he loves this too. Basically anything he can chase and chew!

Re: Toys
Lula has destroyed her hot dog squeaky and the hamburger one. The pink bone squeaky toys are long gone.
Puppy kong is holding up rather well does have a few teeth mark in it. the kong squiggly has been patch up a few times but she loves it. The kong wubba is tougher than the squiggly but not held up so well. Lula loves both of them and spends ages playing with them.
The tennis balls most now lacking the green stuff and we had to throw one of them away. The rope toy is holding up ok and it was pretty cheap too. Lula seems to love fabric toys but looks for any thread and goes at it

harvey adores his boomer ball, and makes noises i've never heard before with it!
I tend to buy the largest rope toys i can, they love squeaky things but they last seconds, at least a shredded rope they can still play with a bit

Haha yes! I can see it in their faces; they are thinking up a plan of how to best destroy it in the quickest possible time!
Do they get hold of each end and play tug of war with it?
