Coming up a month on raw
So it's coming up a month since I started feeding raw I honestly couldn't be more pleased some things I've noticed so far,
- she's really enjoying most of her food she now starts wagging at the site of her bowl she still doesn't eat it all sometimes but she's always only ate what she wants too she won't eat it just because it's there if she isn't hungry.
- her coat is already softer/shinier not added salmon oil or fish yet.
- she seem's a lot calmer.
So far she's eating chicken legs/thighs/drumsticks/boneless chunks, minced green tripe , I tried turkey necks she chewed it a bit then left it so then tried again at tea and done the same so didn't continue to give them I just tried to introduce lamb today gave her DAF lamb mince for brekkie she picked at it then walked away so tried again at tea she done the same so tried lamb ribs and she ate them so I'm guessing it's because there's offal in the mince so I have 20lbs of lamb mince 2 boxes of turkey necks and probably 20lbs of beef mince because that has offal in too that she doesn't like(should be fun when it comes to introducing offal)
Luckily I convinced my mum to let me feed our older dog raw too so she might like them she's only on chicken atm 4th day in.

So glad that it is going well for you You could try mixing more chicken/tripe in with the meats you are finding she doesn't like to see if she will build up a taste for it? Or possibly feeding it frozen?

she doesn't really like any of the minces (not tried beef yet but probably just keep them all for the cats) and the tripe mince seems to make her scratch a bit so just going to stick to chunks/bone in pieces

Re: Coming up a month on raw
this is a bit gross - but when I am introducing a new raw food to R sometimes I need to do a "tug of war" with him to get him interested.
I agree that sometimes frozen or partially frozen sometimes works
with offal - R only eats it slightly cooked or cooked. I have tried it lots of times but in the end I have to microwave it.
Have you tried pigs' tails from butchers? they have actually put me off eating meat as I am now much more aware of the animal that has died to provide the meat but dogs don't have a choice and need meat.
R goes absolutely nuts for pigs' tails.
