Would certainly be good if more people were aware.

I've read this once or twice before and really do wish more people were aware of it

Re: Yellow ribbons
Yep but I don't see the point of a small ribbon which is difficult to see from a distance, went to a reactive dog workshop yesterday and one chap with a boarder terrier said he has a yellow jacket with warnings for his dog and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference with people allowing their dogs to approach his

Re: Yellow ribbons
Great place for sharing this the yellow dog UK Facebook page is great and lots of testimonials from people where the jackets have worked, and gotten people talking. I'm planning on getting one for Bug when I'm back on my feet, just need to be better known. The yellow ribbon didn't work for me, but an friend uses the bandana and has had good feedback

It's a fab idea we just need more publicity so everyone understands it xx

Re: Yellow ribbons
I've seen this and always wonder about getting one as quite a few of the foster dogs I have had are dog reactive.
I don't know if the ribbon would be enough to stop people allowing their dog to bound over or to give my dogs the space they need.
Quite often when I ask people to call their dogs back I get told 'don't worry love my dogs friendly it won't hurt yours'. Even when I tell them mine isn't friendly they just laugh and don't seem to be in any hurry to call their dogs back.
I think the scheme does need more promotion (I'm attending dog shows this summer with my business so will display one of the posters) however I don't think it will solve the problem completely - there will always be some owners that will just ignore it

Re: Yellow ribbons
I completely agree Kate. That's the trouble, there are so many people that ignore us TELLING them so are unlikely to take notice of a ribbon or jacket!kateR wrote:I've seen this and always wonder about getting one as quite a few of the foster dogs I have had are dog reactive.

However if it stops some of them it will be helpful. It's not new but most people still don't know about it.

Re: Yellow ribbons
I have been getting food feedback from people with the collars I bought my girls - green 'friendly' and orange 'no dogs'. At least it shows we are trying to be responsible. There will always continue to be some people who couldn't give a dam and just let their dogs run wild though, with the ever famous 'but it just wants to play'???
