Re: blisters???
Hi and welcome, do come and say hello here when you get chance
https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/f7-new-member-introductions
It sounds like quite a severe allergic reaction, I think a vet trip would be best, let us know how you get on xx

Re: blisters???
thank you for the welcome , i just remembered that he got hold of a chocolate digestive which was dropped onto the floor by my 2yr old daughter and munched it before i could tell him 2 drop it...do you think that is probably the case?
marley only had the Vet yesterday too (typical) and the vet was pleased with him, just a little underweight but thats understandable if he was neglected

Re: blisters???
I suppose it could be that, what type of chocolate? Or does he have anything on him that looks like it could be an insect bite?

Re: blisters???
That's odd, are they sore looking blisters? Or bumps like a large knettle rash?
Bane's legs broke out in bumps yesterday, I bathed him straight away and that seemed to calm them but got him straight in at the vets to get checked over.

Re: blisters???
Exactly what Bane had and it was an allergic reaction to something (havent found out what yet) Has he been in contact with anything different or new on the areas that has the blisters?
I bathed Bane in warm water with a Malaseb shampoo but he was kicking and squirming a lot so I think it may have been quite sore but afterwards the swelling started to go down.
Have you got any Benadryl? Or an antihistamine cream?

Re: blisters???
I had a mega panic when it happened to Bane it's only natural My only concern was that it was spreading and I didn't know if allergic reactions in dogs could become as serious as allergic reactions in humans.
As Saz said if you explain to them they might be able to suggest ways you could make him comforatable until morning

Sounds like reaction to something in the Garden, shrub that has been sniffed/brushed against. Would check the Garden Shrub types if poss.

That's a photo my boy Marco.
It was an allergic reaction to shampoo (they used a hypoallergenic one too) after he was washed at the boarding kennel he used to stay at when we had to go away. He would also get this reaction from chicken. Antihistamines would bring it down and clear it after a week or so. They would be raised bumps but he never got itchy from them.

Re: blisters???
Thanks and not at all. He wasn't the only one of our Dogos to go through this and it took some time trying to figure out the triggers with the different dogs.
With the chicken, basically stop chicken and eggs and see how his skin looks over the next couple of weeks. Weird thing with the food allergies is that it can come on suddenly like they did with mine. Fine with chicken until one day they weren't. It's when this happens that it sometimes takes a while to figure it out as they never had a problem before. You could trying reintroducing chicken/eggs after a month a so once his skin is cleared to see if his skin breaks out again. If it does, you've got your answer.
We've also read some people have problems with the tap water they were giving their dogs which would also cause the same bumps. We now only give our boy bottled water that we drink just to be on the safe side because we don't drink the tap water here ourselves.
Another thing to consider are other allergens like shampoo. A couple of our dogos were also very sensitive to shampoos, including the hypoallergenic ones. Most of the time we would just wash them with plain water to be on the safe side when they absolutely needed a wash which was very rarely considering their white coat.

Re: blisters???
Another photo of his skin that day. Poor boy would also lose a heap of weight when he was in the boarding kennel because he wouldn't eat his food because he missed us so much. Fortunately, he'd put that weight back within 10 days but this was a day after we got back home so he's looking very skinny here.

Re: blisters???
Don't take my experience as your answer, but when this happened to my dog, it was the day after he nicked some chocolate. Took him to the vet and he got a shot of antihistamine and some piriton.
