Skin inflamation
Hi all
Gorden has been itching his tummy for a while but recently over the past couple of weeks it's got worse and he's biting his feet and itching his tummy so much that 2 of his nipples have become inflamed, anyway took him to the vets today and she has prescribed cephacare a steroid tablet and also given me some wipes to wipe his paws when we come back from his walks. I just wondered if there's anything else we can do to ease his itching and also could we wipe his paws (get the pollen off) with a damp cloth as the wipes are £7 for 14 as quite expensive. Sorry for the long post
Thanks Tracy xx

You may also want to try some coconut oil, please see the link below which explains all the benefits:

Re: Skin inflamation
Ask your vet for some episoothe shampoo by virbac, its great my friends stafford suffers terrible with allergies and she uses this, also you could try changing his food to something grain free. Hope hes better soon
Re: Skin inflamation
Make sure the coconut oil is the edible type.
Zeus has had allergies/itches etc all his life, alot of it was down to his food (he's now on raw and seems to be better).
It could also be a grass allergy if you've been going to the park?
I use coconut oil alot and also give piriton when Zeus is really bad.
In terms of the itchy paws.. you can get some apple cider vinegar, dilute it in some water and clean the paws with it. See if this helps..

Re: Skin inflamation
Thanks for the replies, just given him his first tablet and he's been sick! I did mention piriton to the vets but she said they wouldn't help, but then she would as I paid £79.00 yesterday for the tablets and wipes. I am going to get some today though and try him on them. We changed him onto raw feed about a week ago so hopefully that will help. I'm off work today so will pop out and get coconut oil and apple cider vinegar xx
