Raw feed
Hi
Been looking at changing Gordon's food for a while after watching a documentary about what's in dog food, Anyway bought some Natures raw chicken and he's had it for breakfast, he loved it . But just a quick question would it be ok to give him some raw liver or is it best to just keep to the chicken for a Cpl of weeks to get him used to it?
Thanks Tracy xx

Re: Raw feed
Hi Tracy!
Liver is very rich for dogs and can cause a runny bum so I would leave it for a few weeks. If you are sticking to raw from now on then you need to slowly introduce new meats one at a time and then introduce liver and other offal at the end
So start with chicken for a week, then add turkey, tripe, pork, beef, lamb and then get to the liver.
This topic helped when I first started and has a few other links full of information:

Hope it helps, if you have any questions feel free to ask

Re: Raw feed
We don't add veg either but he does love Bananas and Apples as treats in his Kong, and likes to nibble on frozen carrot sticks! Will be trying the sweet potato chips too soon
I don't think vegetables are necessary with raw feeding but if you want to add them I have heard the dog digests them better if they are put through a blender first.
