Remaining positive
My boy diesel slipped a disc two days ago within ten minutes he was at vets and sedated x rayed and given a steroid injection. He improved well over night and through yesterday so he is home and caged. He can wag his tail, pee and is still him self and can feel my touch on his back end so by my thinking the imflammation is dying down. Never been so scared he is back at vet on Monday and I will do what ever it takes to get him better.

Re: Remaining positive
Well done for getting Diesel o the vets so quickly.
Be sure that when he is ready you start with light exercise, though I am sure the vet will advise on the way forward.
Wishing you all the very best and a speedy recovery.

Re: Remaining positive
Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. We went through something similar with Suki. She couldn't stand or even pee w/o help. I had to carry her to the vet and once she had her shot she was back to normal the next day. She wasn't too pleased with the week of light exercise either.

Re: Remaining positive
Thanks for all your support wish I could see some movement from his legs but tail wagging is a good sign I am guessing so does that mean his cord is in tact just inflamed its heart wrenching to see but we are doing everything we can

Sending loves and hugs to Diesel...I totally understand how hard it is watching them struggle, my poor Caley has been crated for 5 weeks so far from an operation on her leg...those little achievements they do certainly feel like all your christmasses have come at once

Re: Remaining positive
Just got back from vets he was really positive and changed his meds and reduced painkillers and dont have to go back for another week. He is standing unassisted fully on back legs with bad balance at the minute. But improving almost by the hour. He is starting to get restless in cage was thinking about putting a kong in to keep him occupied.

Re: Remaining positive
I'm sure a kong would be a good idea to help with the stress and keep him busy.
