Waiting after an interview..
I had my interview for a veterinary assistant job 2.5 weeks ago.. I was told I would know a week after, called in when I didn't hear anything and my recruitment guy had gone off sick so nobody was dealing with my interviews!!
Was then told i'd hear from somebody else within a week, still nothing! Called them and they said the decision still hadn't been made. They then called me and offered me a different job working in reception at a different surgery part time, I declined and they said not to worry, they were offering it to all candidates and a decision still wasn't made for the vet assistant job.
It's been another 5 days so I called this morning to see if my guy was back, but he's still off sick, they've said it's been passed onto the manager and she will be back to me by the end of the week (3rd time they've said this now) I think i'm going insane
I've got a few walking clients and a new training client to keep me slightly occupied but most of my time is spent waiting for this bloody phone call and scrubbing the house like a mad woman to keep me busy! Plus I am now officially out of money.
Jeez! What's the longest you guys have ever had to wait?

Re: Waiting after an interview..
Best of luck to you and the waiting can be difficult. The job I really want closed to application in mid December and I am still waiting for an interview and I know I am one of the 3 candidates left.

Re: Waiting after an interview..
Waiting is so hard isn't it! At least they know you are eager. When I was job hunting years ago, most places do not let you know at all, unless you got the job of course
Hope you here good news very soon Rachel

Re: Waiting after an interview..
December to March to wait for an interview! That is a long wait.. I applied for this job is November by the opening of the store was delayed, so didn't have the interview until mid feb. It's just so frustrating, I haven't been out of work since I was 15!!
Lol Kathy! Do you think you got it!? So rude isn't it.. Especially when they say they will let you know either way!
It's the worst Sue I permanently smell like bleach from stress cleaning lol! Ah thank you! I hope so too!! X

Re: Waiting after an interview..
Well.. After 5 months of messing around and chasing them up, 2 interviews and a month of stress I've just found out that the whole role that I was applying for has been axed. They've said that my feedback was 100% and I'd be too of the list if they recreate it at any point. There's a reception role up for grabs that I've applied for as it's better than nothing, but I'm just absolutely gutted

Re: Waiting after an interview..
They weren't even planning on calling me!! I've called them 7 times in the last 4 days lol, completely incompetent and lacking compassion. If the actual role wasn't so perfect I'd tell them to shove it!

Re: Waiting after an interview..
Sorry to hear that Rachel. What a complete waste of everyone's time! Really what was the point?! Like I said before Rach they rarely let you know unless you get the job, but you would think after all that calling they would have given you a courtesy call!!

Re: Waiting after an interview..
That's so frustrating, would you really want to work within a team that is so incompetent ? This could cause a whole load of issues and stress.

Re: Waiting after an interview..
I have no idea I only called because they kept telling me to call back at certain times as "they often forget to call back" ?! just dragged it out for so long! Feel like crap just really hope this reception job comes forward as I'm flat out broke! thanks Hayley and Saz xxx

Re: Waiting after an interview..
Not really Kathy but I don't have any other choice. The levels of unemployment in this city are ridiculous, I'm 23 without any qualifications other than animal care and dog behaviour, and there are often between 200-300 applying for one job. I've had 6 declines from other roles in the past week!

Re: Waiting after an interview..
Goood luck for your interview!!! I find that most places are absolutely crap at hiring people quickly. I was offered a job at Hobbycraft while at Uni and I must have rang them about 6 times over a month before I was given a start date and contract and it turned out to by shyte anyway!
The OH has only just heard back about a job too that he originally applied for in November I think? They have been "processing" his application, doing the checks etc up until now and have finally told him he starts beginning of April! Hopeless!
