Soft stool in a Staffy puppy
Hi,
New here and this is our first puppy ever to own. We have a 4 month old staffy puppy who is currently 34lbs and has had soft stool for the past three weeks. He had one or two bouts of diarrhea initially that has not been repeated and there hasn't been any blood in his stool. We've been to the vet and they aren't sure what is causing it, they ruled out worms or infection. They're best guess was it may be his diet.
Currently we feed him Blue Wilderness's Evolutionary diet, and we mixed in another version of Blue (one of their chicken and brown rice recipes) and we have limited treats to Blue Wilderness's Chicken jerky.
We removed all peanut butter, all other treats (we had one cheaper salmon type), and have done our best to limit his sneaking of our roommate's dog's food (Science diet).
Is this normal? He continues to gain weight, has a normal energy level, doesn't have abnormal accidents, doesn't act depressed or down. Just wanting to ensure this isn't going to affect him in the long run...
Thanks for any help!

Re: Soft stool in a Staffy puppy
Have you tried a fish based diet? When mine was about 10mnths when I rescued her she would have terrible runs, took her off chicken onto a fish kibble and never looked back Xx

I'll definitely look into it. Is brand of food important?

Thought it wasn't England as I hadn't heard of the feed, I am not really in a position to recommend a good brand where you are but trying a fish based diet, cutting out chicken may help (a lot of dogs have an intolerance to chicken).

Re: Soft stool in a Staffy puppy
Ok! I've been told to wean them onto new food, and I am getting low on the current so I'll grab a bag of fish based feed and mix it in! Thanks!
