Lol, Moo was on Royal Canin and she stank! I Didn't realise how much she stank until I changed over to James Wellbeloved and she doesn't smell as bad! I don't know about the lactol, but Staffy's farts are disgusting

Bruno is on exactly the same brand and flavour and boy you don't know when he is going to let one go, but you soon do when you smell, we've got shares in air freshener now

Well, she wouldn't want to take it with her, it's disgusting!
You could try her with some charcoal biscuits. They sometimes work (although I haven't had much luck with them!).
(I mean that Dempsey still stinks after eating them - I don't eat them, neither do I need to! )

Re: smelly puppy lol
someone mentioned charcoal biscuits, but they have a bigger dog and they gave me one to try nakita with but they seemed hard and i was worried they would break her needle teeth so didnt give it to her.

Re: smelly puppy lol
My old dog used to fart for England, he would let one go then slink out of the room and leave us with the smell. Nice.
Peppa doesnt seem to be too bad, but I've just changed her onto JWB lamb and rice, and from what you are all saying, I'm in for some eye watering stink bombs!

Re: smelly puppy lol
well i found some different dry food, it doesnt have any additives or colours and has added stuff which is good for them AND its supposed to reduce flatulant odours. plus its cheaper than JWB..... its only £3 for 2kg in tesco lol its called harringtons and can be used from 8wks.

Re: smelly puppy lol
I would try changing her onto a different flavour like turkey and rice, it may be the lamb is slightly too much for her belly to handle. James wellbeloved is a great food but not all foods suit all dogs. My girls used to be a bit smelly on the lamb and rice flavour, I changed to lamb and veg (a bit more expensive but better ingredients) and the farting stopped!

Re: smelly puppy lol
Harringtons is full of maize though, not nearly as good as JWB.
Ive been digging for half and hour now and havn't managed to come up with many negative reviews, its just the composition of ingredients Im a little concerened about. Found this on another forum;
'I was using Harringtons quite happily (despite how hard it is to find stockists of larger bags) until I just twigged today that since I first started using it they've sneakily changed the composition:
It was:
• Lamb Meat Meal (min 26%)
• Maize
• Rice (min 20%)
• Barley
• Fat
• Beet Pulp (min 4%)
• Digest
• Linseed
• Vitamins & Minerals
• With Kelp, Citrus, Yeast & Yucca
• Tocopherol rich extracts of
natural origin
until they recently sneakily changed it to:
• Maize
• Lamb Meat Meal (min 14%)
• Rice (min 14%)
• Barley
• Meat Meal
• Fat
• Beet Pulp (min 4%)
• Digest
• Vitamins & Minerals
• Linseed
• With Kelp, Citrus, Yeast & Yucca
• Tocopherol rich extracts of
natural origin
So I'm on the hunt for a new food now'
