Bane sick and Diarrhea
I was originally posting in puppy chat as Bane was acting weird but thought my post now better suits here.
So Saturday morning Bane was fine. Afternoon came and all he did was sleep. He got up at 6pm to eat then slept until 12am when we put him in bed and he was sick, took him outside to toilet and he had bad diarhea.
Yesterday he refused breakfast, just wanted to sleep all day again. He finally ate some chicken yeterday afternoon and went back to sleep. We walked him in hope of helping his digestion and getting him some fresh air. He had a small dinner and went back to sleep. Later put him to bed, he refused to go toilet.
Got up this morning and he had had a few accidents. There was 2 lots of diarhea, but it was down the back of his bed and to the side as if he didn't have time to get out of bed? His bed was soaked and his water bowl empty but wet all around his water bowl...not sure if he had drank it all and some came back up or he just splashed around a lot.
While cleaning up he went outside for toilet, there was some diarhrea and then a more solid looking bit but still runny. He then came in and was sick. He is now in bed with me so I can watch him until I get up...
The only difference I can think of is that we took down a rockery in our back garden Friday and spread the mud across the back. I noticed last night the neighbours cats have been pooping in it -.- and he may have eaten some of that but he always eats poo when out.
He's on a raw diet but had no problems until now and nothing has changed with that.
Is it best to withold food and water for a day (he's 6 n half months old) or just try some boiled chicken and scrambled egg?
Should I still take him for short walks or leave him to rest?
Will try and find out of hours vets number in a bit I'm just not sure how it works.
Sorry for the essay and any sp mistakes am on my phone!

Poor Bane. I wouldn't feed him until later and maybe give him boiled chicken and rice. Is he drinking okay? If you are really worried ring the Vet

Sorry to hear Bane is still unwell.
I think it's fine to starve him but do make sure he has water available. They can become dehydrated very quickly.

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
Yes I would starve him for now as long as he is drinking and there is plenty of water for him. If you pick the fur up on back of his neck and let it go if it retracts quickly then he isn't dehydrated just if you need to check. I would defo ring vets if you are concerned though xx

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
I would also say a call and trip to the vets would be in order for poor Bane, it sounds like he could have eaten something he shouldn't. Keep him off the food but leave fresh water available for him.

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
He seems to be ok at the moment. He has had a little bit of scrambled egg today as he just looked so sad whenever there was food about! I called the emergency vet and they said the same as you guys make sure he has plenty of water and lay off the food. If he was sick anymore then to take him in.
He hasn't been sick but also hasn't been for a poo all day...no surprise though as he hasn't really eaten. The only problem I am thinking will be over night though. I don't want to put him to bed thinking he was feeling better like yesterday and come down to the mess there was this morning. Poor guy, I bet he didn't get any sleep
I hope he is better tomorrow or I will be taking him into the vet to get him checked over! Thanks guys! I wish they could talk!

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
Well he isn't asleep! So maybe feeling a bit better in himself?
There was a little bit of bile on the floor when OH came down this morning but I've read that's most likely due to his empty stomach?
I've got some scrambled egg cooling down for him so he can eat that...still hasn't been for a poo though! Any thoughts to get him to go? Or should I just try giving him a bit more food? Will try adding some boiled chicken later too! Fingers crossed

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
See how he deals with the scrambled egg first, then in a couple of hours if all OK give a little bit more scrambled egg. Leave for another couple of hours then try a little of his food if all OK again.

Thanks Kathy He has been keeping the food down during the day, it just seems to be over night.
He hasn't finished his scrambled egg but he is going nuts with his gorilla so will try again in a few hours

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
Hmm is odd that a few of em seem to all have it at once! Do dogs get bugs like we do?
Bane has been crazy today! Little bugger, he has to be ill on the weekend and want to sleep all day and then bouncing off the walls when I need to work!
I've given him a little bit of chicken and taken him for a walk Seems normal to me but still hasn't had anything come out the other end yet so we can only wait and see!
Glad Oz is back to his usual self Will have to look up some of that Pro Kolin stuff! I hope ill doggies isn't a regular thing...not pleasant!

The yogurt would be great for his tummy, this will get the good bacteria in his tummy back in balance again.

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
Awww poor Bane, hope he's feeling okay now Axl was sick on Sunday but he brought up a bit of football I think he was eating things he shouldn't in my mum's garden, he seems fine now so I'm not too worried. I hate it when they're sick though really worries me
Whenever Axl has a bad tummy he doesn't usually poop for a day or two so don't worry too much it will happen when Bane's ready

Re: Bane sick and Diarrhea
Kathy that was what I was hoping
We have poooop! It was green though Started alright but got progressively runnier so he's obviously still not 100%!
Should I continue with half scrambled egg and half his regular food (raw) or go back to only scrambled egg and maybe some boiled chicken?
