Norris - Brindle and White Staffy x
Norris is a brindle and white staffie cross and is currently on foster in Rushall, Herefordshire .
The Norris Fact File
Dog status: Excellent, could be rehomed with other dogs or on his own
Cat status: He is in foster with cats but is very excited in their presence. Care would have to be taken with introductions and management if he were to be rehomed with cats
Child status: He is not in foster with children but has spent time with them and been very well behaved. He could be rehomed with older children.
House training: Excellent
Home alone: Happy to be left for short periods if he has had a walk beforehand. Could possibly be rehomed to a full time worker with enough exercise and stimulation at other times.
Basic training: Excellent manners, knows sit and recall and has learnt to walk nicely on the lead.
Norris is a wonderfully laid back and loving dog. He is a stunning staffie cross with an eye catching white blaze marking on his face.
Norris is living in foster care with another dog and greets dogs of all shapes and sizes nicely out on walks. He could be rehomed with canine company or as a single dog as long as he got the chance to still socialise and play with other dogs when out on walks.
Norris came in to our care after a member of the public took him from a group of boys who were beating him. This has affected his trust a little and he can be slow to approach new people and takes a while to warm up. Once he has decided all is well (which happens very quickly) he is a wonderfully affectionate and charming dog who loves people and human company. Norris is leaving his nasty past behind and must be with kind and completely consistent people, so he can trust and relax. He is looking for a new home who will not molly coddle him and feel sorry for him as he needs to move forwards from his past and learn to trust again with the support and guidance of a loving new family. He will need consistent boundaries and positive socialisation to continue as he has bloomed in his foster home.
Norris has not been living with children but has been visited by them in his foster home. he has been well behaved but is shy at first introductions as he is with all people due to his past. He could be rehomed with older children who are used to dogs and know how to be gentle.
Norris is house trained and is happy being left for a few hours. He could possibly live with a full time worker if they invested enough time in his physical and mental well being at other times and had arrangements in place for Norris to be walked at dinner time. He does bond closely with people and although this routine may suit him, he would need plenty of social contact at other times to ensure he does not become down in the dumps. Having said that, he would relish a home where someone was around all day and he could be their affectionate little shadow. At the end of the day, Norris’s favourite thing is to cuddle up with his humans on the sofa, he stretches out, legs up and is always happy to get a tummy rub.
Norris’s canine teeth are all broken, he must have rubber toys and chews and never be allowed to pick up rocks.
When Norris arrived in foster care he was very strong on the lead and would pull so much that he scraped the ground and damaged his pads. He is an incredibly fast learner and just wants to please so he is now walking nicely on the lead with guidance. This would need to continue in his new home so that he does not reverse to his old ways.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk

Awww, if only I were a bit ( ok.......a LOT ) closer.
He looks very similar to my RoXy, except for the Blaze on his face.
Hope the darling boy finds a loving home soon

Re: Norris - Brindle and White Staffy x
Norris is back in his foster home. He's been there a week now and is feeling better every day. He's done a lot of sleeping, a lot of eating and a lot of cuddling. He's also enjoying his walks and he's been such a good boy that he's had some off lead adventures, which he loves.
He says "hello"
Good to be outside playing and back with his foster brother
He won't be ready for rehoming for a while as he needs time and patience to settle in and to be reassessed but any interest would be welcomed
