Roxy - Young Red and White Staffy
Roxy is a 1yr old Staffie x and is currently on foster in Quedgely Gloucester.
The Roxy Fact File
Dog status: Roxy is in foster care as a single dog and may be best rehomed on her own.
Cat status: Roxy has been good with confident cats that she has met but if a cat runs she can chase. She could be rehomed with very dog savvy cats.
Child status: May be able to be rehomed with children aged 8 years plus who are used to dogs.
House training: Good
Home alone: Roxy is currently being crate trained and her time alone is being built up cautiously by her foster home. This would need to continue in her new home and she would be looking for someone who is home a lot.
Basic training: Roxy is very clever and loves to learn. She knows Sit, Down, Roll Over, Off, Leave It, Stay (still working on), Her name (for recall)
Roxy is a smashing little girl, a lovely petite staffie cross. The perfect size to curl up with on the settee without her taking too much space! That is just about her favourite thing to do, she is a very loving and tactile dog who adores people. She came to us from the pound meaning we have no history for her and do not know if she has lived with children before. She has been living in an adult only foster home but has been brilliant with children she has met along the way and is very playful with them. She could be rehomed with children aged 8 years plus and would love to have children to run around with.
Roxy would ideally like to be rehomed as the only dog. She can be a bit up and down in her relationships with other dogs, some she can greet nicely and get along fine with and other she is more uncertain around and has been known to growl. Her foster family are working on this and socialising her appropriately to help her. This would need to continue in her new home.
Roxy has not been living full time with cats but has been around them (as the pictures later in the thread show). She is polite but interested however, she could chase a running cat. She could be rehomed with dog savvy cats.
Roxy's foster carers have been slowly building up the time that she is left alone to ensure she is comfortable with it and not pushing her too hard. She is a social dog and does not like being left. however, they have crate trained her and this has made her feel more secure and happy. Roxy would not be rehomed with a full time worker and would like someone who is around a lot.
Roxy is very clever and loves to learn. She already knows sit, down, roll over, off, leave it and her recall command. She is currently working on stay. She loves to play frisbee or tug making her the perfect dog to train as she is food, toy and touch motivated.
Roxy will be looking for an active home as she may be a coach potato at home, however, she loves long country walks. She is good on the lead and her foster family are working on her recall on a long lead and gradually building up this skill.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk

Re: Roxy - Young Red and White Staffy
Little Roxy went fundraising to Bowood House today, she had a little protest as she doesn't really like to go out in the rain, she much prefers to stay in the warm and cuddle up on the sofa when it rains.
She looks forward to finding her forever home soon, meeting her new family and cuddling up on the sofa

I hope so. That bought a tear to my eye again. We all love each others dogs and my heart goes out to all those dogs that aren't at home snuggled Xx
