Im having big problems with lola when people call. She goes mental and doesnt listen, i have to take her out of the room because its to much. She wets herself then lies in it and flicks it around with her tail, very embarrinsing. HELP

I ask my visitors to ignore banes unless he sits. It seems to work with most if them. He used to pee too

Does she have a crate? It may be worth crating her when somebody knocks and only let her out when she is calm.

Have you tried keeping her on the lead until she calms down?

I dont have a crate, its not the knocking thta sets her off its when i allow her to see the visitor. Id say if i left her she would jump on the person till she couldnt stand anymore.

tessa used to go mental whenever people came round or when we came home after leaving her for a while. we bought her a big nyla-bone and now when we come home or if someone comes round she is standing at the door, tail wagging bone in mouth. it has calmed her down loads.

Keeping her on lead should help and the urination is from excitement which should disappear when she is older. Also, if you can have people stop by more frequently so she will get used to it. We had someone ring the doorbell every ten minutes for hours a few days per week so Suki would get used to it and people coming in the house.

Everyone is told to ignore Darcy until she sits which works quite well but so still gets a lil giddy but only for a few seconds. Having Lola on lead should help control her Smile

Bacchus loves vsitors too but not to the extent that it's a problem. I would make sure your visitors know not to interact at all with her until she settles down. I noticed you joined us in May, was she a puppy then? If so she's still very young and should settle down.

Pixee goes mental when one of us comes home, more so me. And friends. But she is calming down, we use the word 'calm' she knows just what it means. In the space of a year, she is so much calmer. Wouldnt hurt to try the lead as others have said. Or try shuting her in a room, then answer the door, and once her barking has calmed down, if she does bark, let her out to say hello.
