Post by Jackjames Wed Feb 19 2014, 05:27

Iuse a standard cage for my staffy at the moment. Im thinking of making something that looks nicer (matches the kitchen lol). Made me wonder if any of you have already got some ideas to show off?

Lula crate is just a basic black one but she does really like it. Yesterday she went in with her kong and sat in there for ages playing with it. I put her spare bedding on top of hers  Blushing

We didn't like the crate covers you get in Pets at home etc, as we didn't think it'd offer warmth etc and didn't like the look of them.

So, my mum, whose pretty handy with a sewing machine, brought a king size fleece throw and cut/sewed it to fit onto the crate, just like a sock. We then purchased a flat memory foam sponge which she sewed the remainder of the fleece on. Turned out to look like this:

Fancy crates W7e71c

Matches the downstairs decor and Zeus loves it. Whenever he wants to go to sleep or be left alone, he goes straight in and lies down. You can also see a neck sponge/pillow in the pic, which my mum sewed as Zeus likes resting his neck on things when he sleeps.

Spoilt much?!

Looks good goldie. Put a cover on oscars aswel as we was told it makes them feel safer when inside. I put some gym matt on the flooring but he ripped it up when he was a puppy, now hes older he has a carpet...things you do for your dogs ha....

What a great idea. Think I may do something to Marquez's crate since we've also got it in the family room.

If you scroll down this link there are quite a few ideas pictured. I like the ones made of wood that double up as side tables:
