hi everyone i need some advice on how to train my 3 staffs my husband was going to do it but is now working away alot so im going to give it ago i just want to start with the basic sit stay down etc and help will be very much appreciated x

I used marker training, which is like clicker training but instead of the clicker I say 'yes' to mark the correct behaviour and then reward with a treat. You can use this to teach any command.

Arm yourself with some small, high value treats and get out with the long training lead  Smile most of all have fun and end with something your dog can do well.

Good treat idea's are tiny pieces of ham, cheese, chicken, hot dog sausages, spam!

Lots and lots of praise and patience is also needed! Just treat it as something fun to do and a great way of bonding with them and you'll have a great time Smile It's so good when they learn a new trick!

i got the dogs some little treats and they have already started sitting when im telling them so thats a great start hope the rest is just as easy thanx all for the advice

Ah thats a great start, if you put the time in you will get the results, Its best to do short training sessions of just 5/10 mins several times a day  Smile
