New to the group, meet Layla.... rescue Staffy
Hi Peeps... I'm new to the group and rescued Layla from a pound in Melbourne, Australia. Struggling through Kennel Cough the last couple of months (finally over), we are still struggling with horrible skin allergies (hot weather and grass) and unfortunately mange. She was skin an bone and had been riddled with fleas when I got her, and apparently was a mum approximately 12 weeks before I rescued her. But she's putting on weight and in typical staffy form, she just wants affection from the whole family (loves my daughter)....... she's an amazing little English staffy, so well mannered and just takes everything in her stride.....
Hope to get some tips to help her with the mange... we are currently treating through a wonderful Vet..

Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
Are you able to get hold of some Borax laundry soap, if so the treatment below should help with the Mange. Please discuss this with the vet before you proceed with the treatment though.
BORAX laundry soap! . Its a multi purpose cleaning agent. Works wonders.
BORIC ACID will kill your dog! PLEASE DO NOT use this! Used to bait and kill roaches and other pests.
I can understand how this can be confusing. Most people have never heard of BORAX. even though its been around since 1891..
Mixture in a bowl:
1 cup of Hydrogen peroxide
1 cup of Warm Water
Add BORAX until will not delude any longer in solution. (does not take a lot. Maybe 1/4 of a cup)
MIX solution well..
Apply generously with wash cloth to infected areas
This needs to be applied EVER OTHER DAY Depending on the severity of your dog condition. Up to SIX weeks. If you do not treat every other day or the mange isn't completely gone it WILL come back and spread.
This home remedy is cheap and easy to do. IT WILL WORK as long as you keep up with it..
Good luck!
