Fuming Empty Fuming

Post by tracy boo Sun Jan 19 2014, 14:47

Ok, i'm walking Gordon on the park on his long line yesterday, in the opposite direction comes a women with a small dog,as she walks towards us she askes if my dog is ok with other dogs, I say yes he just wants to play. She lets her dog come over to Gordon and it immediately jumped up growled and bit my Gordons nose, I don't know who was more shocked me or Gordon!!. The womens reply was sorry about that, he sometimes does that!!!. Luckily Gordon was ok but it's not the first time this has happened , im sick and tired of people letting there dogs come over to mine if there is even a chance they might be aggressive. I have control over my dog, it's about time other people had control over there dogs. Luckly Gordon has never shown aggression back, but he's coming up to being a teenager and may retaliate one day, So where do you stand with this?? if it happened, I have him on a long line all the time as his recall is not good! but I cant control other peoples dogs angry

I think I know how you feel, can you just ask people to put their dog on the lead when they are approaching that way all the dogs are under control.

Yes Lisa he's fine thanks. Yes Kathy I will do, I suppose I have just assumed that if people let there dogs off lead to run up to us they are ok x. To be honest Gordon just went back to playing with his ball after I checked his face, he's such a laid back lil boy, it's me that get angry with irresponsible dog owners.

How frustrating! And if that was the other way around, there would have been hell to pay! Bloody people  angry I'd just avoid him and tell his owner that you don't want them interacting anymore. Just try to keep Gordon's interactions positive with known calm dogs for a while Smile

Its infuriating I have had this on many occasions, once a scottie dog owner let him up to Vin who was on lead, he went straight for his face and grabbed his lip and was shaking it. Hence to say Vin had a puncture mark in his lip.
I think maybe little dogs sometimes its fear aggression so they strike first to protect them selves. Lil sh1ts!!  Surprised

Well that lady has me fuming too, she has the bloody cheek to ask if your dog is ok, knowing full well that her own bloody dog bites on the nose of other dogs  Surprised  and carrys on letting her dog do that, well one day a dog is not going to appreicate this and put that little dog in its place, and whos fault is it going to be!    angry

Grrr these people are my worst nightmare, I have put many posts on here about people letting dogs run up to Axl whilst he is on lead. He's a friendly boy but now he can be a little unpredictable so he's not allowed off lead with other dogs around. The amount of body blocking I've done for him is insane. Now I don't mess about I ask people to put their dog on the lead as they approach, usually they do Smile I can't understand why its so bloody hard for people to see a dog on lead and put theirs on, just in case...
