Re: walking your dog in hot weather
We have dirt roads but I avoid walking when its to hot. So we normally have our walks at six in the morning and 4:30 in the evening. And I carry water with for both of us.

Re: walking your dog in hot weather
I dont walk Pixee when its too hot on footpaths. We stay in the woods, much cooler, and make sure our walks are very early in the morning and later in the evenings, and I always take her drinking water bottle with us too. That poor dog on the picture, hope the paws didnt take too long to recover.

Same is Nicky for us in the summertime, although it rarely gets that hot in England but we still avoid the hottest part of the day.

We still take water for Pixee in the winter on long walks. Just so she has some clean drinking water when she wants some.

Re: walking your dog in hot weather
normlly on very rarely IRISH hot summer day lol .. i would have levy and diesel up by a river or waterfall area .. just so that they will constantly feel cool etc best thing to do if your babies live out side is to leave hose running cold water into their enclosure as i will be doing this when summer comes along … as they are cloth getting too big to be living indoors but I'm not that bad to put them outside in this really bad weather

Re: walking your dog in hot weather
On really hot day I tend to avoid walking the boys at all, or at about 3am because Chance just can't cope. But on hot days i walk them with kool collars on and i take loads of water to keep soaking them with!
