Nathan, Staffie X, DOB 13.09.12 – Guildford, Surrey
Homing Requirements: Nathan has had a sheltered life. He needs support and ideally a basic training course to catch up and learn to steer his enthusiasm and concerns. Nathan would love the freedom of an enclosed garden. Nathan grew up around very young children and dotes on them. Nathan's presenting skin condition has been successfully treated.
His Story: Nathan grew up with a very young family who lost their home and moved into a 5th floor flat and couldn't offer Nathan what he needed. Nathan came to us and we have since neutered, chipped and he is vax'd. Currently in Kennels near Godtsone, Surrey.
Advert: Nathan is novice and cheery. He loves children, though children will need supervision around any adult dog. He is keen to meet dogs and needs further socialisation to come to terms with his adult body and play. Nathan sooo needs a family to guide him and a training course to support his skill acquisition. An active life style which will enable him to bring it all together. Nathan travels well in the car.
Nathan is an 18 month old long legged Staffie cross the size of a small boxer. He a bit cartoony, so eager to give affection and caring. Nathan needs to settle beside dogs outside and is happier once walking beside them. He was allowed to chase cats so needs firm awareness in street walking; he hasn't done any harm. Nathan is a big baby and the next 6 months will show him coming through into adult-life and playing catch up. He has a super temperament to help it to happen.
Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.
Please visit Nathan’s thread on our forum: http://rescueremediesdogrescue.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=82 to find out if he is still available and for fuller details.

One of our volunteers gave Nathan a break from kennels. Here is their update:
"So Nathan had another sleep over at ours last night as he was so good on Thursday. He is getting to know us and settles quickly now, though still likes a play when he arrives with his Nylabone. He certainly knows how to relax, is definitely house trained and knows that he is not allowed to share our food (much as he would like it!) Loves a cuddle on the sofa and is now much calmer when out for walks on an extender lead, meeting other dogs and people well. He just needs a family to give him the attention and time he deserves, he will make a fantastic loyal friend.
Nathan makes a friend at Broadwater lake yesterday
Watching telly on the sofa with me
So the no sleeping on our bed policy was a real success - not!
Nathan does use his own bed from time to time though
Helping Andy get up the hill to the North Downs way today"
