Hi!

I want to go running with Spike for the new year to get healthy and to tire him out and was looking into canicross as holding his lead while running can really hurt your arm (he pulls a LOT!)

Theres so many canicross brands and websites though! I was thinking of buying an all-in-one kit (harness, lead, belt etc.) but don't know where to purchase or what im looking for! I don't want to spend a fortune but don't want a duff kit that will break under Spikes pulling either

Does anyone else do Canicross with their staff or have any advice?

I do it, but we haven't competed yet mind.

I bought a walking belt, and just use there normal harness with the double ended lead attached to them.

you need to teach him basic commands that YOU want to use, alot of people use the sled dog commands, i don't i just taught left right, up and down (for curbs etc) steady, etc etc also take it steady to begin with, he may be used to running about, but he needs to learn and build up endurance to steady running.

The couch potato to 5K guide is great if like me you have never been in to running Smile
