Ahhhhhh!!!...really need to vent
Why. Why does he have to tear and ruin everything he gets his jaws around
I don't understand. He has enough mental stimulation. Multiple long walks. Loads of toys. Rotated so there's always something new but still he has to destroy everything else in his path especially his bed. Every time I let him out of his crate it looks like Christmas morning in there. And he sits there with a face like he knows he's done wrong but he's just a baby. I just bought him a new bed. Supposedly more "resistant" against dogs who tear beds. Bulls**t. It lasted less than a week :@. He's 10 months. And really testing my last nerve. I would leave him in it with all the stuffing but that seems cruel. I'd take the bed away and just leave him with a blanket but that seems cruel to just make him sleep on the hard floor of his crate. I know some people who have said "he's just a dog, he'll be fine without a bed" but not to me. He's like my own. To me that's just cruel. But omg raising a baby is easier than this.
Arghhh. If this has happened to you. Please tell me it gets better or what you did to help this

Re: Ahhhhhh!!!...really need to vent
Darcy has never been a bed chewer thankfully, but I know some members have bought their dogs single duvets and cheap covers then it's not as expensive to replace, I have to watch darcy like a hawk or she despite all her stimulation and walks she likes to chew

Again my Vin has never been a great chewer but I know they can be, it will get better honest he is exploring everything he can. Just put his bed away and replace it with toy every time.

My staffy is also 10 months old and does exact same thing. I started to buy cheap pillows as a bed. Sometimes they last a fortnight sometimes not two hours but like you I like them to be comfortable. Ive heard from other staffy owners that they are supposed to calm down around 18 month so only another 8 month to go

Lola was terrible for doing that but she grew out of it when she was over a year

We got loads of fleecey blankets and put them into the big plastic beds when our two were into chewing! Now they have a big cushion bed and haven't chewed it (it does get better! )

Ahh the reassuring feels so much better. Thanks everyone for your comments. Glad it does get better.
You see I'm a first time dog owner and I act like you would as a first time parent. Worrying about everything. I swear when I first got him I made countless trips to the vet for some of the most silly reasons.

@dudette yea it's called something like that 'rough and tuff' or something or another. It is good with my cousins little Frenchie who teeth aren't as sharp but not my little lobo. No way. If he can sniff it or lick it. It will be destroyed

Re: Ahhhhhh!!!...really need to vent
Pixee started to chew and rip her bedding up at the blue cross. When she came home with us, she loves her new bed we brought her. Never happened again, but she does like to chew on toys, rip them to bits, loves plastic bottles, cardboard boxes. At least they grow out of it.
