Re: lung worm ?
When you get your next worming treatment, make sure that it includes lungworm. It doesn't kill them, but it does help to prevent them. If your dog is unlucky enough to get lungworm, only your vet will be able to give you something to get rid of them.

Re: lung worm ?
its only a worry if you get lots ov snails slugs and frogs in your area which i do so i use a separate wormer for the lung worm and the drontal

Steve, it isn't just the toys you need to worry about, really, it's the slugs & snails themselves - they've only got to touch them with their nose & they're at risk.

They can get them from just the slime trail. We wash our paving down every week with jeyes fluid, but obviously we can't do that to the grass. Just make sure that your wormer covers lungworm - that's really all you can do.

Re: lung worm ?
infection can often be fatal.
The lungworm parasite is carried by slugs and snails. The problem arises when dogs purposefully or accidentally eat these common garden pests when rummaging through undergrowth, eating grass, drinking from puddles or outdoor water bowls, or pick them up from their toys.
Foxes can also become infected with the lungworm, and have been implicated in the spread of the parasite across the country.

Re: lung worm ?
If they are caught in time, they are easily treated. You just need to make sure you give the right wormer on a regular basis, and be aware of your dog's health. If you notice anything peculiar (read the link for symptoms) then straight to the vets.

Re: lung worm ?
dont forget about frogs also being carriers as caryll stated its all in the mucuse on slugs snails and frogs/toads
AND NOT to worry to much about if givin the correct wormer which must be given monthly not the normal 3 months as other wormers
