Tricks
Daisy knows all the basic commands sit, down, stay, leave etc so I thought it would be fun and also good mental stimulation to teach her some tricks, so I bought a book called 101 Dog tricks Have started today with spin and peekaboo!
Has anyone else taught tricks? And if so what?

Re: Tricks
I've taught Oz to do a stick em up and play dead, he's nearly there will it, he can roll over (but only one way?) and can go from one side if my keg around the back and sit next to my other leg, but again only one way, I'm trying to think of new things to teach him so I may invest I. This book too, sounds great xxx

Re: Tricks
Lots of food treats seem to work but we are nowhere near perfect but we keep practicing, I've told Oz that he has a lot to live up to after seeing Jambo do his stuff xxx

Re: Tricks
My two can do the basics plus beg, play dead ("bang"), "up," "paw", twirl for one way and spin for the other and a little bit of "crawl." Roxy's really good at opening her dad's sock draw knicking socks too (self taught lol)

Re: Tricks
Oooo that book sounds interesting! We keep trying to think of new things to teach Bane but almost out of ideas!
He already does: Sit, Lay Down, Stay (most of the time) Paw, Other Paw, Beg (has to hold my arm cos he can't balance ) High 5, Roll Over, Plays dead when we "shoot" him, Crawl, Twirl, Leave (again most of the time) and we play "Find it" with him where he goes in search of treats!
At the moment we are trying to do recall training the most but not being particularly successful! So jealous of those little puppies that run around after their owners in the park not batting an eyelid at other dogs! *3*

Re: Tricks
Im SO jealous! Alfie came knowing sit....that's it. Im teaching him to lay down but its slooow!
No stay. He has absolutely no recall and was never off lead. He pulls a lot too, though slightly better with harness. Not dog friendly as we were told either.
Tricks, tricks?! Lol
