Smile Dog Tricks

Post by KatieD Sat Mar 31 2012, 18:43

Hi again all, what tricks does your staffie know?? Kaiser is 5 months and i've managed to learn him "sit" and "leave it" and last night I googled how to learn a dog to give paw and he literally learnt in a few minutes, I was astonished! Surprised As he's my first Staffie I never knew how quick they are to learn! Think i'm going to keep at the "paw" for a while longer and then move on to another trick, cant wait! hee hee

Bailey is 7 months and does all the usual things! Sit, lie down, roll over, high 5, jump, stay! Picked them all up pretty fast aswell apart from roll over which took longer as he was just always too excited lol!

They amaze me how quickly they learn! Moo was older when I got her and picked things up so so quickly. Apart from roll over, not mastered that one yet!

Saxon sits, gives his paw, gives his other paw, lays down, plays dead, "dances," "hugs," and can leave it and stay. He is 18 months old and super clever. He could probably do a lot more if I worked with him more.

roll over is easy to teach your dog if they like food!

Winston loves cat biscuits so I got him to lie down then held some biscuits near his nose and then pulled them out of reach so he had to roll over onto his back then right the way around..and then I gave them to him..but now I make him do 3, one after the after before he gets the biscuits! As he does it I say Roll over... he picked it up real quickly. Must try to get Tony to video him doing it..

Its what we learn at training when she's sat in front of me ill say round & she will go around me & sit at my left hand side, or to the left she will be sat in front of me again go behind me a little on the left & sit down (sorry i am the worst person to explain something) Laughing

Tilly knows Sit (if there's a biscuit on offer), Come (yeh as long as there's nothing more interesting), High five, Snore (just like she is doing now) Fart, and her favourite which she often likes to do wih the Snore command is ...go on jump on the bed in the middle pulling the covers off everyone else with 4 paws in the air hoping that someone will wake up in the middle of the night and tickle your belly,....................does that mean she is clever Laughing

Nala knows 'sit', 'stay', 'down' (as in lie down), 'paw' and 'leave it' (although she sometimes forgets that one when it suits her!). She was really quick to learn all of these commands, a lot quicker than I expected to be honest. I'm trying to teach her 'heel' just now, which is proving to be more difficult than any of the other commands.

Does anyone do hand signal commands with their dogs? So far we only do sit (finger up), lie down (hand flat down), hi five (hi five hand!) and stop begging (both hands up). I don't know what the use of it is, but it keeps her busy!

Maisey is just gone 7 months. she can currently knows the following commands;

Sit
Down (lie down)
Paw
Bed
Bow
Hi 5
Off (Get off)
Leave it
Wait
Come
Fetch (But wont bring it back, yet haha!)

she also tells me when she wants to go outside for the toilet, she'll either stand by the back door and bark. or she will come into the room that i am in, and whine getting me to follow her to the door.
-
She can do Twist, Roll over and Spin. but i have to have a treat in my hand.

And I'm currently trying to teach her 'Close' getting her to walk close by my side on and off the lead.

I do with Millie, more or less the same signals you use. Bella hasn't quite got it yet though Rolling Eyes
