Tricks!
So Sapphie is 4 months and 2 weeks old and since we got her, I've been teaching her tricks. So this is what she knows so far:
- Sit
- Paw
- High 5
- Lie Down
- Kiss
- Find
- Roll over (Learned today!!)
So proud of my little smart girl. One problem i'm having with her is when you want her to come and she doesn't listen, you lower the voice but she runs away coz she knows she's going to get told off. Then I have to run after her through the gardens, sometimes runs all the way home from the park!! How can we get her to listen when using an angry tone of voice instead of her running away when using an angry tone??? so confusing! We've tried a higher pitched tone like "come come" but ignores lol.

Re: Tricks!
Don't use an angry tone!
Sounds simple, doesn't it? I know it isn't! I'd invest in a long training lead (30' or 50' from ebay - they're quite cheap) and let it trail when you're over the park. Make sure the end is always close enough for you to either grab or stick your foot on & always use a harness with it. Then if she won't come at first call, you can reel her in, but still use the nice, happy tone as you continue to call her.
Never tell your dog off for coming back to you, even if it's taken them an hour & you've been running all over the park after them! The on;y thing that will register with them is that you've told her off for coming - so why should she come back next time?

Re: Tricks!
Well done with all the tricks. I love doing tricks with Blue. Your obviously putting the time in as she's learn't allot already. I would do as Caryll suggested with the recall and remember to stay calm. Like the tricks some things they get straight away and others takes them time. Plenty of praise when she comes back and treats
