we hit the six month mark
Tip has become a gorgeous girl. She settled down well and even started getting along with the cross JR. I got a few questions though. I only ever before owned GSD and just want to know: will she also go through that I hate strangers phase they went into when they turned six months? Also we live in a rural area so we do not meet very few people and other dogs other than the three she lives with. Will joining a doggy playgroup be a bad idea?
She has been a challenge to train and can be so stubborn but I love her to bits. She is very protective of us as a family. Chickens scare her though - a hen chased her when she was three months old so now she avoid them.
We have very few accidents. The few we do have is when like its storming and she refuse to go outside which makes sense; she dislikes thunderstorms.

I think the play group would be a great idea, it will give her the chance to mix with other dogs and socialise well in a controlled environment with professional staff on hand.
If she has an accident indoors don't make a fuss about it just clear it up, she will soon learn to go outside for the toilet.

Happy half-birthday Tip!
I'm not familiar with GSDs but neither my Dobies nor my current Staff went through a hating strangers mode, so I wouldn't worry about that too much if I were you. But a doggy play group would be absolutely fantastic if you can join one

Happy 6 month birthday! My parents have a Staff back home out in the countryside and because he is really badly car sick, and too doesn't meet many dogs on walks, he's never been socialised and unfortunately does not get along with other dogs. He loves people, but not dogs, so a play group might be a good idea! We take Bane to a puppy club and he has a wale of a time!
