Re: hair on her back
I'm assuming you mean there was a darker line of hair in a ridge along her back and shoulders. This is perfectly normal behaviour for a dog. It's called raising their hackles. The hairs along the back, shoulders, neck and base of the tail will often raise due to any number of factors - excitement, fear, anger, aggression, cold, surprise, etc..
She might have been excited or possibly nervous. Hackles alone can't tell you exactly what your dog is feeling, but the overall body language can. If she was standed stiff-legged and glaring at the other dogs, it may have been dominance/aggression. If she was avoiding eye contact and centering herself away from the other dogs, it may have been nervousness. If she was wagging her tail and pulling forwards, she may have been excited. There are a number of other body behaviours that would have accompanied the hackles, including ear position, stance, eyes, etc..

Re: hair on her back
Could be that she didn't like the other dogs. That isn't necessarily indidicative of aggression though - they may have been displaying aggressive behaviour, which she reacted to. Aggressive behaviour can be easily missed by humans; something as small as staring or a small ear movement.
