Hi guys how can I stop my dog from ripping clothes off the line?
I need to get him to stop ASAP because my mrs isn't happy at all.

Not something I've come across but would think a strong leave command would help?

the only thing that will work is a leave , either that or he doesn't go out in the garden when the clothes are on the line

This is how I taught it Smile

Sit him down in from of you and hold out a treat in the palm of your hand, say 'leave' as you do so, he will go straight for it as soon as he does close your hand move move it away.

Repeat this until he doesn't move towards it, wait a second and say 'yes' then let him have the treat.

Gradually increase the time you hold it out for, when he is allowed to have it say 'yes' and let him eat it.

Then you can progress to putting it on the floor and then stepping back, further and further.

Eventually he will recognize the command and it works for anything Smile

Does take a bit of time and work but definitely one of the most valuable command to teach Smile

Not having the dog and the clothes in the same place at the same time is a sure cure ... flapping in the wind, please chase me, I smell like your humans clothes are always going to be hard to resist (especially to a home alone, I want to play, I miss my humans staff).

As a firm believer in not putting temptation in temptations way, I would suggest you buy your lovely lady some flowers and either get yourself a clothes airer for use indoors while the dog is out, or pop the dog inside when the clothes are out Smile
