i used to own 2 staffs until last year when the youngest 1 died at 6 whilst undergoing a spaying
now her mother aged 13 has come in season and is licking her rear end a lot,i am worried

Re: cure for pyo
If you're at all worried that she has an infection (of any kind) you really ought to go To the vet.
As for a cure for pyometra, the vet can give high level antibiotics, but they're not very effective against it. The best cure is spaying.
However, you don't know that's what she has - she could just be cleaning herself! Get her to the vet to put your mind at ease.

Re: cure for pyo
I was told by my vet that older dogs who haven't had a litter and still have their "plumbing" are prone to it, & start with symptoms 6-8 weeks after their last season !! My last girlie got it when she was 10 (fitted all criterea bove- afteq full hysterectomy and flush-out, she was fine. Vet said her uterus should be similar to a Bic Biro pen - when they got inside, it was the size of 3 cumberland sausages !!! Messy job !!
