Eating too much and too fast
sooooooo because my employers are acting like a pair of morons and finding it hard to pay their staff on time it is resulting in temporary food changes for lexy and diesel!!!
They always have wainwrights no matter what but due to this mess up at work .. ive only had the money for either small bags of it or bigger bag of crap food. as of now until 10am they have no food at all i gave them 3 tins of wet food (pedigree) between them over 2 feeds ... (I KNOW ...TERRIBLE STUFF!!!)
I've noticed that diesel 98% of the time does not chew his food and just bloody swallows it like a hoover. Is this bad for him?? and he eats wayyyy to much as well but i feed them both the same but before levy finishes 2 mouthfuls diesels has chomped up and fights with lexy to get hers as they are sooooo hungry.
IS IT a BAD idea to mix wainwrights with a lower budgeted brand of kibble to see that this mess does not happen again??
ID RATHER NOT but the mrs doesnt believe in paying this kinda money for kibble.
PS i bought a 2kg bag of james well beloved and they LOVED it

Re: Eating too much and too fast
I am a believer that quality food pays for itself with lower numbers of eliminations and gas as well as healthier dogs leading to fewer vet bills. Your going to have to discuss that with the mrs though.
For diesel, try putting a ball in with his food. It can force him to have to work harder to eat and slow down. Also, and most importantly, you need to separate them for feeding. Why not feed Lexy in her crate or a separate room where diesel can't get to her? That will stop him eating too much and from a potential huge issue. Trust me, you do not want your dogs to fight!
Hope that helps.

If you have run out of dog food maybe cook some rice and mix this with some cooked cooled chicken. It's a bit bland but will avoid any upset tummies until you can get their regular food again. You may also want to try either a Kong to slow down the eating time or one of these kinds of food bowls:

Re: Eating too much and too fast
If it's just a stop gap then it isn't too bad.
However, I certainly wouldn't let either dog try and finish the other one's food! Do you really want a full on fight? And please don't say "The other one doesn't mind" - there could come a time when they do mind and you could end up with two severely injured or even dead dogs.
