Hey all, had my pup for just over a week now. He's 10 weeks old and ive noticed that while sleeping his breathing is very rapid sometimes reaching ~150bpm. I know its normal for puppies to have a short rapid breathing pattern while they're young but this doesnt sound right. Any thing I should be asking while at the vet or am I just being paranoid? Thanks Smile

I'm not sure, Daisy breathes fast when she's dreaming but not really the rest of the time? I'm sure someone else will be able to advise but as always if your worried go to the vet to get checked out, it will do no harm Smile

Not sure here either I know pups do breath fairly fast, as said someone will be along who can enlighten you more. Big Grin

Darcy used to terrify me doing this, she used to breathe really really fast when sleeping/dreaming! I asked my vet at the time and they said it was normal, but if you worried give your vet a call to ease your worry. Smile

Thanks everyone for the replies. Vet said it's completely normal for a puppy so that's put our minds at ease.

Glad they've put your mind at rest.

She's probably dreaming about chasing squirrels!Big Grin
