Breathing Empty Breathing

Post by brettj83 Tue Mar 12 2013, 23:49

Hi all, just wanted to know if anyone else's staffy is always breathing fast, Jabba is always breathing fast even if he hasn't been doing anything. He was at the vets last week for his annual check up & the vet said he is in great shape. But he is such a heavy breather & i was wondering if other staffs are the same

No but if the vets is happy, then thats all you can do. Moo breaths heavy when she is snoozing or playing hard but not as a general thing, sorry not much help Xx

No Steff dosen't really breath fast unless she has been playing or when it's hot she pants, A LOT, But like Janey said if the vet said he is in great health I wouldn't worry too much about it Big Grin Is it something he has always done or is it a new behaviour?

thanks, no he has always done it, he's always panting. He is always on the go as well, its hard to get him to sit still & relax unless he is exhausted or i tell him its bedtime & he pretends to quieten down cause he knows he is going outside

If he is always active he will likely be breathing faster than at rest. If the vet has given a clean bill of health I wouldn't be too worried.

If his nose is shorter he may sound heavier too. Pugs sound awful when they breathe.
