Hi guys :-) just wondered if anyone could offer me any advice here, I've had buster for four weeks and let me tell you he is my little treasure and I can't imagine life without the little guy however I just have 1 little problem, he is very aggressive with my 6 yo son. My little boy has mild cerebral palsy and is ADHD and I'm trying to get him to be calm with buster but he is so scared of him that he runs from him and jumps on the couch to get away from his sharp little teeth ! I got a pup rather than a rescue so I could have pup grow up with my lad so question is how can I get them to bond ? I'm trying to get my boy to calm down and stroke buster calmly when he's on the couch and feed him tid bits in his mouth to get him used to Little teeth but anymore advice would be great. I've gotten used to chewed skiting boards, carpet, accidents etc as that's just puppy behaviour, I discourage all mouthing and try to encourage him with toys instead. He is 12.5 weeks old and goes for 4x15 minute walks a day as per age 2 of which are off lead and is fed James well beloved and plus eggs, chicken, frankfurters, makeral etc for training treats. Please help :-)

at that age he is far to young to be aggressive, he is doing what any other pup especially a staffy pup does, which is nip, jump, growl, run around and be generally mental!

You need to be firm and consistent with both your son and dog, so everyone is on the same page so to speak.

What Ella said really....just takes time.

You could make your son the primary feeder, this will encourage interaction and generally when foods involved the pups focused and they can start to build a bond (with you there obviously) Xx

Thanks, I'll try that, buster stay waits for his food and is fine with me putting my hands in his bowl and moving his food around so I'll give it a go :-)

It does get better. The " needle" teeth stage is the worst. I had my daughter and grandson to stay when Bacchus was about 11 weeks old. I went along to the local shops and when I came back they were both on the sofa with their feet tucked under to get away from him.Laughing

He's a total gentle sweetheart now.Love Struck Love Struck
