I saw this ages ago and don't doubt it for 1 minute

I was watching that wonder of dogs programme last night and found out something I didn't know , they were bred to hunt badgers Surprised Surprised Surprised  and badgers are proper tough little b*****s , and the sausage dog owners look down their nose at us Rolling Eyes

Yes Dave my little Bradley was a little devil, a very robust little dog but when you realise what they were bred for it sort of adds up. Hence to say he had my folks a few times but never me as he knew who was boss! I did love him though xx

My MIL has a Dachsund or however you call it , inventively called Sausage Rolling Eyes  He is actually a really friendly little fella and has a very unusual coat that looks a bit like Merle ( Brownish and looks like a pidgeon has taken a dump on him ) I actually really like him , it was their Westie that was a nasty little git

They are kind of cute, I used to have a fear of them cos when I was little I nearly stepped on one and got a fright eek There is one gets on the beach near me and it's really fast considering it has stumps for legs.

have seen similar figures before, i love the article though with the quotes from the diff dog club members. Mr sausage dog is in denial, Mr Chihuahua misses the point entirley and then backs up the study with "They can be a little bit stroppy" Laughing  And then Mrs Rottie puts the boot in and flicks them a two fingerd salute with " I am not surprised Jack Russells are up there near the top; they are yappy little things "
Its like listening to an argument in the park between dog walkers lol rolling on the floor

My neighbours are in their 90s and I have to go round there sometimes when the old lady falls over and pick her back up.

They have a blind, diabetic sausage dog and he puts the willies up me as he seems quite ready to take a chunk out of me each time I pop round. Blushing

I've worked with dogs for 6 years, and I've been bitten badly twice. Once by a Jack Russell and once by an English Mastiff. Don't feel differently about the breeds at all, just the idiot owners that failed to train these poor animals. I've met some lovely "sausage dogs" Smile

My Father-in-Law has a Jack Russell X Dachshund and he is a feisty little fella. A little nervous and dog aggressive but not too bad.

He and Ozzie are on a 'staged' introduction plan at the minute. Little and often is the key with these two I think and we end every meeting at a positive point.

Well done for doing this, always good to end any training session on something your dog can do well maybe with a small treat or at least a good fuss.

It is a technique that has served me well with many dogs.

The temptation is to think 'this is going really well, I'll just give them another 5 mins together' and then someone gets over-excited and starts barking or nipping and you end up separating them on a negative note.
