Jabba's Cataract Surgery

Well we are off to Sydney tomorrow for Jabba's surgery, can't wait until he can see again! not that being pretty much blind has slowed him down any!

Hi all, thanks for the msgs, Jabba's op went pretty good. He had a bit of pressure in one eye from the lens being swollen that the doc was worried about but she said he came out of the anaesthetic really well but they are going to keep him slightly sedated for a few days. I go back to ppick him up on Sat. Cheers

thanks for the well wishes everyone, Jabba is finally home after a few days in the "big smoke" the vets did a wonderful job looking after him. I walked in there today to pick him up & he started wagging his tail before i said hello which means he saw me!!! he was pretty quiet on the way home (5hrs) he has 3 diff eye drops as well as 2 tablets & a sedative if he gets to excited, he needs to be pretty quiet for 2 weeks & he is not a fan of the lampshade collar either!

I bet that was super exciting that he was happy to see you, not just hear you! That's great he is on the mend and all went well! I hope he has a speedy recovery!

Well its been 2 weeks since Jabba had surgery & everything is going great, his eyes are healing up nicely & the vet is really happy with how its going. His eye pressures are good which was one of the concerns the vet had. The only downside is that he has lost nearly 4kgs in 2 weeks because of the meds he is on, poor little fella looks like a stray! lol once he finishes the tablets he will stack it all back on.

So great to hear that Jabba's eyes are recovering so well. He must be so happy.

Don't worry about him losing a bit of weight - so long as he is drinking and eating normally now, he'll soon get back to his best weight!  

Great to her the surgery went well  , I agree I'm sure he will soon be back to his normal healthy weight very soon.
